Accounting Technician - Paymaster St-Hubert

To support the growth of its activities, the company is currently looking for an Accounting Technician - Paymaster

The incumbent is responsible for producing the complete cycle of biweekly payroll for all subsidiaries in Canada, according to their schedules. They will also  participate in various accounting cycle management  activities.



1.     General accounting support 

  • Work in collaboration with Accounting Department to manage accounting cycle
  • Assist with preparation of monthly reports
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements
  • Account reconciliation
  • Follow up on and prepare various reports
  • Receive and file supplier receipts 

2.     Manage payroll process

  • Prepare, administer and review payroll for all company establishments and ensure that they comply with government laws and company policies
  • Prepare and balance end of period reports and reconcile payroll already issued with bank statements
  • Configure and update employee details in the payroll system
  • Maintain employee banked vacation, hours accumulated and holidays
  • Process documents for beginning and termination of employment
  • Balance T4s and R1s at year’s end and complete summaries
  • Data entry and tracking of benefits
  • Plan, organise, direct, verify and evaluate policies, processes, procedures and payroll tools in collaboration with Finance and HR Departments
  • Make recommendations on improving processes and efficiency in payroll administration 

3.     Other

  • Perform all related work required by immediate supervisor 



  • Relevant college diploma in accounting
  • Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years pertinent experience
  • Knowledge of labour laws and standards
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral command of French
  • English
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) as well payroll applications
  • Knowledge of Nethris payroll application an asset
